Scarab Inscribed with the Name Maatkare (Hatshepsut) .

The Throne name of Hatshepsut, MaatKare, is written from right to left on the base of this scarab.

The first hieroglyph is a seated woman holding an ankh (meaning "life").

The curled ostrich feather on her head identifies the woman as Maat, the goddess of truth.

Other two hieroglyphs are a sun disk, Re, over a basket, neb (meaning "lord").
